Helen Ziga: New Works at Gallery Chimera

I am so excited to share a new collection of artwork at Gallery Chimera, a space that brings such a dynamic and vibrant energy to the Atlanta arts community. This exhibition features many of my newest relief artworks, each centered on the principles of construction and compositional balance.

Built on wood panels, these three-dimensional works use a saturated palette of bright and earthy tones to create a quiet, rhythmic presence. I integrate sourced wood elements in varying shapes directly onto the panel, with a delicate application of thread on select pieces. By anchoring these forms within deliberate, balanced arrangements, I allow the color to interact with the natural shadows created by structural depth.

I designed these relief pieces for those who seek a stabilizing, sophisticated presence within a contemporary home. Because they are constructed as physical objects, they offer a dynamic visual experience that evolves as the light in your room shifts throughout the day.

To own a piece from this collection is to acquire a focal point of deliberate energy – a work that balances high-impact color with a sense of grounded, rhythmic silence. My intent is for each artwork to serve as a durable, architectural anchor, offering both a bold statement from a distance and a rewarding, tactile discovery upon closer inspection.

I have developed this body of work across a range of scales, offering opportunities for both new and established collectors to find a piece that resonates with their space. I’ve been practicing in the Atlanta area for many years, and I’m honored to be exhibiting these works alongside established artist Vernon Robinson.
